The Toronto Romance Writers annual Catherine Award contest announced finalists in mid-August. My entry ranked 9th in the Romantic Suspense category and scored 158 out of a possible 200 points. Scored by three independent judges, all three ranked the submission a 5/5 in writing mechanics — that is, spelling, punctuation grammar and format.
